The photo shows Dalmatian Pelican at Lake Kerkini in Greece.
At Lake Kerkini, Dalmatian pelicans thrive. Local conservation efforts have increased their numbers and it seems that fishermen and pelicans learned to live together. Pelicans breed at the north end of the lake on man-made platforms where they are safe from predators.
